First Responders Therapist & Veterans Counselor
About Me
Richard Piekarczyk-Vacca served as a Combat Engineer in the Canadian Armed Forces for eight (08) years. Despite his best efforts, he was medically released after a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Complimenting his education with experiences from service, he became a Registered Psychotherapist with a clinical focus in First Responder therapy and Veteran counseling.
Serving those who have served or still with boots on the ground involves not only clinical but cultural competency. Richard recognizes First Responders and Veterans belong to cultures of service and applies this in his approaches to treatment. Richard has navigated the healthcare system from his own injuries, giving him an uncommon ability to understand healthcare from the perspectives of First Responders and Veterans.
Physical and mental health in First Responders and Veterans involves a circle of complimentary care that recognizes biological, psychological, and social spectrums health.

Mental Healthcare
Our clinical team comprises licensed practitioners. Of course, whatever the amount of education or experience anyone has, no one knows everything. This is why we are part of a collaborative team, each with their own specific areas of clinical focus and training.

Angela Saavedra
Children & Family Therapist
Angela is a Registered Psychotherapist with family members who are First Responders, giving her a unique perspective to the struggles they face.
Her clinical focus is therapy for children and adolescence. By using approaches like play therapy Angela has been able to communicate with children in a language they understand and feel comfortable with. From helping them to improve their ability to communicate and regulate emotions, to addressing breakdowns of connection in the family.
Helping you and your children better communicate can improve connection and might be what you need to reconnect.
